| The Chamber held its ceremony on October 18th, in Club 9, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest headquarters. We had as our most important guests and supporters HE Mr. Pardraic Cradock, the Irish ambassador and our honorary president, and Mr. David Butler, director within Enterprise Ireland. The welcome speech was held by Mr. Stefan Popa, president of CCIB. “Bilateral economic relations, these are at an early stage of development but they are expanding rapidly. A major need is for a direct air link and I hope that contacts currently underway will result in the provision of such services. Given the substantial Romanian community already established in Ireland, there is undoubtedly a market there. The Romania-Ireland Chamber of Commerce will have vital role in the development of bilateral economic relations. The Chamber will provide a meeting place, an exchange for companies. Potentially, it will act as a marriage broker for companies seeking joint venture. In conclusion, I would like to salute again the people behind this project and to assure them that the Embassy of Ireland will assist Romania-Ireland Chamber to the greatest extent possible,” said HE Mr. Padraic Cradock. Among the VIPs being there to welcome our creation one finds HE Mr. Ion Revecu, former Romanian charge d'affairs to Dublin, CCIR and CCIB officials, ARIS representatives among which Mr. Sorin Vasilescu, important business people such as Mr. Aidan Joyce of InfoPoint, Oliver Cadogan of Active Property Investments, Mr. Hugh Beirne of Strategic Development, Mr. Narcis Gorea of REAG, Mr. Dorin Cojocaru of BCR. Distinguished consultants such as Mr. Brian McCarthy or successful lawyers such as Mr. Andrew Kingston of Nestor, Nestor, Diculescu Kingston, Petresen and Mr. Nasty Vladoiu of Vladoiu&Asociatii were also present. |
