CCRI opened the series of St. Patrick's celebrations in Romania for 2008. Kept on March 5th, at Hotel Marshal, the party reunited approximately 40 business people, diplomats, bilateral chamber of commerce presidents, cultural association representatives, as well as a few special guests.
Our thanks for our members and sponsors: Benclinov & Associates, Urban & Associates and Plus Media Com, for helping us in organizing this event. We extend the thanks to Mr. Antonescu, who put at our disposal a wonderful location and made sure the food and drinks are simply the best.
The atmosphere was lovely and cheerful, our guests having a festive time. David Noonan, first secretary within the Irish embassy, had no escape and had to tell the St. Patrick story, Eduard Uzunov, CCRI president, announced Royce Munster Holdings as the newest CCRI gold member, Jose Iacobescu, president of the Bilateral Chambers Union, congratulated CCRI for its work and development and renewed the Union's support to all business people, may them be or not CCRI members.
Thanks to Mrs. Ioana Nitescu, well known journalist handling shows for foreign countries at the Radio Romania Actualitati, CCRI got the opportunity to have a live intervention regarding St. Patrick's Day and the important of keeping close ties to Ireland.
Among the party people were some of the long time CCRI friends such as Jackie Bojor (FRD Center), Costinel Radu (Vialeste), Iulian Scrieciu (Tal Aviation), Daniel Prunariu (ARIS), Michael Bell (Blackpearl), Jose Iacobescu (Bilateral Chambers Union), but we also had new commers such as Florin Ochiana (Grafton), Peter Moynahan Pap (Romanian-Irish Cultural Association), Nasty Vladoiu (Romania-Israel Chamber of Commerce), Marius Sticlaru (Romania-Coreea Chamber of Commerce), Mr. Dobre (Romania-Kuwait Chamber of Commerce), Nigel Cox, Laurence Dolan (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and Stephen Elliot (Mivan).
Promising to come for the next CCRI meeting, all took their time and enjoyed until late in the night. White shrimp, lamb chops, veggies and many other delicious courses were accompanied by Guinness, Jameson, wine, soft drinks and LOADS of NETWORKING.
